I'm sure most of you noticed that we lost Servers 3, 5 and 6 last month. This was due to financial reasons.

I'm sorry I did not get an announcement posted sooner, and make a plea for donations to save them, but quite frankly it was just too much of a cost to continue these servers regardless.
The amount of donations and subscriptions was simply not enough to maintain the amount of servers we are running, and even if we had an influx of donations, something had to be done.  I was making up most of the bill the past several months, and it was too much for me to continue.

With that said, many of the members told me how much they miss Server 5.  It seems our Freeze Tag server was quite popular, and a great place for members and regulars to hang out and have a good time.

I'd like to announce today that Server 5 is BACK!!!

NEW IP Address, SAME Server 5!!!

How do you get on Server 5 now? Here are the instructions:

Bring up the console in-game by hitting the tilde key ( ~ ).
Type in:
connect 64.34.180.224:12205
Hit Enter - You will logon to the new Server 5!

If you have the LSE Quick Connect Menu, you can edit the configuration so you can use the old "Server 5" button.
Here's how:

Search your computer for the file: lse5connect.cfg
This file should be found in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\[main] and/or [mainta] and/or [maintt]\configs\lse5connect.cfg
Open this file with Notepad or another text editor, and look for the line:
connect 64.34.180.50:12204
Change it to:
connect 64.34.180.224:12205

Save and close.  If you have more than one lse5connect.cfg then change each one to be safe.

You can now use the LSE Quick Connect Menu again for Server 5!

Now, in regards to the other servers, I do have some more plans in store. I want to bring back a random map Team DeathMatch server.  I will make a separate post about that with a POLL to get everyone's opinion.

With that all said, Good Company can still use your help!

Please click on the link in my signature if you'd like to donate to Good Company.

Please feel free to ask any questions or post comments.

Thanks,

Alll is well with the world again Wink

I felt bad seeing them go down but it's good to know the FT server is back up.  I had lots of fun there and I'm sure it'll be very popular now that it's back.

thanks for all the hard work vkdawg.

Thanx Mike, I know many including myself are pleased by this.  Whatever issues that have recently come about, we will weather the storm. This thing of ours has been here like 5 years already, that alone shows the dedication of everyone here.  I cannot speak for others or maybe I can.....LSE/GCGG has been an important part of my life, like family.......I don't think explanations are needed.  It is still as much an honor being part of GCGG as the day I received my tags.

We are blessed to have a forum such as this.  Smile
